NMDC's unit, France's Technip Energies to form new joint company

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), wholly owned by National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), has signed an agreement with France-based Technip Energies to form a new joint venture.

The agreement was reached during the visit of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President, to Paris, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, the new company will focus on offering added value services in blue and green hydrogen and related decarbonisation projects and CO2 capture.

NT ENERGIES will also launch industrial projects in the fields of waste-to-energy, biorefining, and biochemistry, supporting the energy transition in the UAE.

In addition, the company will provide onshore and offshore oil and gas fields and facilities services, oil tanks installation and repair, installation, maintenance, and manufacturing of alternative energy equipment, as well as oil and gas facilities consultancy.

The Group CEO at NMDC, Yasser Zaghloul, said: "This agreement with Technip Energies opens up new opportunities for sharing expertise in the field of sustainable energy and aligns with our expansion plans and ongoing search for new ways to strengthen global partnerships in line with our strategic vision of continuous growth."

Meanwhile, the CEO of Technip Energies, Arnaud Pieton, commented: "Beyond policies, it is industry leaders like T.EN and NPCC who will develop, scale up and integrate credible solutions towards a low carbon environment. Our collaboration will help to further develop local competencies, increase in-country value, and cooperate to break down barriers to engineer a sustainable future together."
