Mubasher: Qatar Electricity & Water Co. (QEWC) has announced the extension of a QAR 400 million long-term maintenance contract with Germany’s Siemens for 15 years.
The deal came in line with Qatar’s endeavours to firm its economic and political ties with Germany.
QEWC expects to operate the first solar power energy station by 2020 with a capacity of 350 megawatts, while the second station is planned to have a 250-megawatt capacity.
Siemens operates 40% of power plants supervised by QEWC, which reflects the solid cooperation between both companies.
