Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Monday’s trading in green territory, encouraged by the growth of five sectors.
The general index rose 75.76 points, or 0.85%, to finish at 8,983.79 points.
The insurance sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 1.23% as Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance went up 4.35%.
Similarly, the industrial sector grew 1.13% as Qatar Electricity and Water Company rose 2.07%, while the banking sector jumped 0.76% due to Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding’s 2.33% increase.
Meanwhile, the real estate sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.91% as Ezdan Holding Group declined 1.77%.
The goods and services sector went down 0.16%, pressured by Islam International which decreased 1.93%.
By the end of the session, Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which advanced 1.65%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 4.6 million shares, generating QAR 41.9 million in liquidity.
