Mubasher: Qatar Electricity and Water (QEWS) reported a 24.3% year-on-year profit increase in the fourth quarter of 2018.
The Qatar-based firm’s profits amounted to QAR 384 million ($105.7 million) in Q4-18, compared to QAR 309 million ($85 million) in Q4-17, according to QEWS’ financial results published on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).
For the full-year 2018, QEWS’ profits rose 5% to QAR 1.54 billion, against QAR 1.62 billion in 2017.
Earnings per share (EPS) registered QAR 13.97 for the 12-month period ended 31 December 2018, versus QAR 14.69 for a year earlier.
QEWS’ board of directors recommended a cash dividend distribution of QAR 7.75 per share and the general assembly will discuss the proposal on 6 March.
During the first nine months of 2018, QEWS reported an 11.8% profit increase to QAR 1.156 billion, compared to QAR 1.311 billion in the same period of the prior year.
