Saudi Re’s profits shrink 12% in 2021

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Reinsurance Company (Saudi Re) has logged net profits before Zakat worth SAR 53.31 million last year, a plunge of 12.15% from SAR 60.69 million in 2020.

The earnings per share (EPS) declined to SAR 0.43 in 2021 from SAR 0.52 in 2020, according to a recent bourse disclosure.

The company witnessed a hike of 24.11% in net written premiums (NWP) to SAR 958.96 million last year from SAR 772.63 million in 2020.

Meanwhile, the net incurred claims jumped by 44.21% to SAR 565.31 million in 2021 from SAR 391.97 million in 2020.

In the first nine months (9M) of 2021, the Saudi listed firm posted an annual increase of 36.50% in net profit to SAR 47.89 million, compared to SAR 35.07 million.
