Mubasher: Vodafone Qatar on Sunday signed an agreement to provide state-of-the-art mobile coverage infrastructure and network across all Economic Zones Company’s (Manateq) projects.
The design, construction and installation of Manateq’s telecommunications networks will begin immediately, according to the telecom company’s statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).
The 10-year deal will provide businesses and customers operating in the logistics parks and industrial zones with high speed connectivity to Vodafone’s network, including 5G services.
Earlier this month, Qatar’s Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) gave Vodafone Qatar the spectrum licence to operate 5G services commercially across the Gulf nation.
During the first nine months of 2018, the Qatari telecom operator posted QAR 75.42 million in net profit, against QAR 227.74 million in net losses in the same period of 2017.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock slid 1.81% to close at QAR 8.15 on Sunday.
