Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) posted an annual leap in net profit to AED 933.33 million during the first nine months (9M) of 2022, versus AED 780.22 million.
Revenues surged to AED 9.43 billion in January-September 2022, compared to AED 8.61 billion during the same period a year earlier, according to the income statements.
The basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) jumped to AED 0.21 in 9M-22 from AED 0.17 in 9M-21.
During the third quarter (Q3) of 2022, du generated net profits worth AED 319.34 million, higher by about 12.70% year-on-year (YoY) than AED 283.23 million.
Meanwhile, the Q3-22 revenues rose by around 10.50% YoY to AED 3.17 billion from AED 2.87 billion.
In addition, the basic and diluted EPS stood at AED 0.07 in Q3-22, versus AED 0.06 in Q3-21.
Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, commented: “This quarter’s results have been excellent on all fronts. Our business environment has clearly transitioned to a post-pandemic normality. We are benefiting from the UAE’s economic dynamism and healthy macro trends.”
Al Hassawi noted: “Our service revenues are recovering and growing at an encouraging pace. We generated service revenues in excess of AED 2 billion for a fifth consecutive quarter. We have invested and will continue to invest in our infrastructure to give our customers a simple and the best available experience in the UAE.”
In the April-June 2022 period, the UAE-based firm registered net profits worth AED 303 million, up 26.20% from AED 240 million in the year-ago period.
