Alinma Tokio Marine turns to losses in H1-21

Riyadh – Mubasher: Alinma Tokio Marine Company has recorded net losses before zakat of SAR 3.271 million during the first half (H1) of 2021, against net profits of SAR 2.169 million in the same period of 2020.

The company's net written premiums reached SAR 80.886 million in the first six months of 2021, up 1.17% from SAR 79.948 million in the year-ago period, according to a bourse filing on Tuesday.

The company's net incurred claims declined by 1.72% to SAR 34.098 million in H1-21, compared to SAR 34.696 million in H1-20.

The losses per share stood at SAR 0.16 in the January-June period of 2021, against earnings per share (EPS) of SAR 0.02 in the year-ago period of 2020.

Meanwhile, the company incurred accumulated losses of SAR 103.216 million, accounting for 34.4% of the capital.

It is noteworthy to mention that in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, the company reported a 93% decline in net losses before Zakat to SAR 784,000 from SAR 11.28 million in the same period last year.
