Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to halt business in all operating banks across the country from Thursday to Sunday, 20-23 July 2023, in celebration of the Islamic New Year and July revolution.
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) also approved a paid vacation for its employees during the same period, according to an official statement.
Both the CBE and EGX said that work at banks and trading activities shall be resumed on Monday, 24 July 2023.
It is worth mentioning that Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, declared last week that employees who work in ministries, different governmental agencies and bodies, as well as the private sector shall get a four-day weekend.
