Oman’s Muscat Securities Market-listed Dhofar Generating Company said its chief executive officer, Naif Al Awaaid, had resigned effective 24 August, 2019, with Javed Mustafa – currently chief financial officer of the firm – named as acting CEO with immediate effect.
In a bourse missive, Dhofar Generating Company said Al Awaaid had resigned due to personal reasons.
Its statement added: “The board […] acknowledges the contributions of [Al Awaaid] and during his tenure with the company and wishes him all the best in his endeavours.”
Mustafa holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, economics, and statistics, and is an accountant with certified internal auditor certification from Institute of Internal Auditors.
Dhofar Generating Company added that Mustafa has 20 years’ experience in the professional auditing sector, with 12 years of experience in the power industry.
