Cairo – Mubasher: Eastern Company posted net profits of EGP 2.92 billion in the first half (H1) of fiscal year (FY) 2021/2022, up by 15% year-on-year (YoY) from EGP 2.53 billion a year earlier.
Earnings per share reached EGP 1.23 at the end of H1-21/22, which ended on 31 December 2021, compared to EGP 1.07 in the same period a year ago.
Revenues increased to EGP 8.53 billion in the July-December 2021 period, compared to EGP 8.16 billion in the same period of FY20/21, the tobacco manufacturer said in a bourse disclosure on Tuesday.
During the second quarter (Q2) of FY 21/22, the company's net profits stood at EGP 1.32 billion, compared to EGP 1.37 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.
The company's revenues amounted to EGP 4.22 billion in Q2-21/22, slightly up from EGP 4.21 billion in Q2-20/21.
It is worth noting that in Q1-FY21/22, Eastern Company's net profits hit EGP 1.59 billion, up by 37.7% YoY from EGP 1.16 billion.
