Edita’s new bakery line begins operations at EGP 135m investments

Cairo – Mubasher: Edita Food Industries announced that its new bakery line housed at its E07 plant has commenced operations with a total investment value of EGP 135 million.

Hence, the total production capacity of the bakery segment will increase by 20% annually, or 11,000 tonnes a year, according to a stock exchange statement on Sunday.

In June 2021, Edita purchased the new bakery production line.

Established in 1996, Edita is a leading Egyptian snack food producer in the MENA region, with a mission to prioritise quality and innovation, according to the company's website.

It is noteworthy to mention that in the first quarter (Q1) of 2022, Edita’s consolidated net profits jumped by 57% to EGP 162.42 million, compared to EGP 103.48 million in Q1-21.

In the meantime, revenues stood at EGP 1.55 billion in Q1-22, up 34% from EGP 1.16 billion in the year-ago period.
