Mubasher: The shareholders of National Mobile Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) approved a cash dividend distribution of QAR 0.43 per share at the annual general meeting (AGM) on 7 March.
Ooredoo recorded proforma revenues worth QAR 22.70 billion in 2022, up 4% year-on-year (YoY) from QAR 21.90 billion, according to a press release.
As of 31 December 2022, the group’s normalised net profits surged to QAR 2.80 billion from QAR 2.20 billion in 2021, while the free cash flow rose by 3% YoY to QAR 6.40 billion.
Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Chairman of Ooredoo, commented: “In 2023, our intention is to pursue strategic options that will unlock significant capital and maximise shareholder value."
“Alongside this value creation, we are dedicated to generating environmental and social progress,” he added.
At the beginning of this year, the group named Ali bin Jabor Al Thani as the new CEO of Ooredoo Qatar.
Besides trading on Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), Ooredoo is also listed on Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and Boursa Kuwait.
