Dubai – Mubasher: Takaful Emarat – Insurance has recorded net losses attributable to the shareholders of AED 4.556 million during the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, up from AED 2.555 million in the same period of 2020, according to the company's unaudited consolidated financials for the three-month period ended 31 March 2021.
The company's net earned contributions increased to AED 110.405 million in the first three months of 2021, compared to AED 99.394 million in the year-ago period.
Meanwhile, the company's net takaful income reached AED 18.715 million in Q1-21, compared to AED 18.79 million in Q1-20.
The basic and diluted loss per share settled at AED 0.030 in the January-March period of 2021, against AED 0.017 in the corresponding period of 2020.
At the same time, the company incurred accumulated losses of AED 71.81 million, accounting for 47.87% of the capital.
It is noteworthy to mention that in 2020, the company recorded net profits of AED 412,982, against net losses of AED 39.346 million in 2019.
