Dubai – Mubasher: Takaful Emarat – Insurance has incurred net losses of AED 7.144 million during the first half (H1) of 2021, against net profits of AED 769,306 in the corresponding period of 2020, as per the company's unaudited consolidated financials for the six-month period ended 30 June 2021.
The company's net takaful income increased to AED 39.51 million in H1-21, compared to AED 38.02 million in the corresponding period of 2020.
Meanwhile, the company recorded net earned contributions of AED 232.56 million in the first six months of 2021, up from AED 201.547 million in the corresponding period of 2020.
The basic and diluted losses per share settled at AED 0.048 in the January-June period of 2021, versus earnings per share (EPS) of 0.005 in H1-20.
Meanwhile, the company logged accumulated losses of AED 74.399 million as of the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, representing 49.6% of the capital.
It is noteworthy to mention that in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, the company recorded net losses attributable to the shareholders of AED 4.556 million, up from AED 2.555 million in the same period of 2020.
