Dubai – Mubasher: The net profits of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) reached AED 370.48 million in the first quarter (Q1) of 2023, an annual jump of 19.10% from AED 311.18 million.
Revenues jumped by 10% to AED 3.44 billion in Q1-23 from AED 3.12 billion in Q1-22, according to the consolidated financial results.
In the first three months (3M) of 2023, the basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) stood at AED 0.08, higher than AED 0.07 in the year-ago period.
The total assets amounted to AED 17.18 billion in January-March 2023, versus AED 16.56 billion as of 31 December 2022.
Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, said: “During the quarter, we added 48,000 mobile postpaid customers on strong enterprise demand and the attractiveness of our Unlimited Data Power Plans. We continued growing our broadband customer base by adding 18,000 home wireless and fibre clients.”
Al Hassawi indicated: “We delivered a remarkable performance in Q1 with double-digit revenue growth. Service revenues increased 9.40% as a result of the consistent and disciplined implementation of our commercial strategy.”
Last year, du achieved net profits valued at AED 1.21 billion, a 10.80% YoY growth from AED 1.10 billion.
